SCOTT LESTER
AGE: 32 but I feel as old as the Cubs World Series drought. But I sense a youthful spring in my step coming this October.
REACH: Not much, unless we get more traffic to this site.
WEIGHT: 100 years — need I say more
PROFESSIONAL RECORD: I am a newspaper designer for the Des Moines Register in Des Moines, Iowa. After a three stint at a Wrigleyville bar, I spent two years as a news assistant in the Chicago Tribune sports department. I moved on to become a sports copy editor for the Decatur Herald & Review, where I spent a year in the original home of our beloved Bears. Moved to Des Moines in 2005. I graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in journalism in 1998.
PERSONAL STATS: Born in Chicago and raised on the mean streets of River Grove. I’ve been a die-hard Cubs fan since Day 1. But I grew to love everything Chicago (except the White Sox). My love for the Cubs led me to a four bedroom apartment two blocks Wrigley Field, where I spent many summer afternoons basking in the glow of a Cubbie win with an Old Style(s) in my hand. But there’s something missing. I’ve been to Opening days, the NLCS in 1984 and 2003, the first official night game (8/9/88), but this season I expect to see a game in late October. Go Cubbies!
